Phanish Puranam is the Roland Berger Chair Professor of Strategy & Organization Design at INSEAD. His research focuses on how organizations work and how they can be improved, particularly examining the impact of algorithms such as AI, blockchain, and the metaverse. He leads the Organizations and Algorithms research program at INSEAD. Phanish has authored key books, including The Microstructure of Organizations (Oxford University Press, 2018) and Corporate Strategy: Tools for Analysis and Decisions (Cambridge University Press, 2016). His forthcoming book, Re-Humanize: Building Human-Centric Organizations in the Age of Algorithms (Penguin Random House, 2024), explores AI's impact on organization design. He directs executive programs on AI and teaches MBA electives at INSEAD. Phanish also advises corporations and public sector agencies, including the UNHCR, on organization design and analytics.
